Snapshots: Italy

After our wedding, my family (now including the man of course) and I went off on a short road trip around Italy. My parents have been here many many years ago but it was my sister’s first trip, hence my excitement at showing them my new home.

Our first stop was Pignone. A sleepy little town where we stayed the night. Our bed & breakfast, La Meridiana was an absolute delight! You could not imagine the breakfast spread with five kinds of homemade cakes baked by the owner’s wife. My kind of place!

The following day we set off for Cinque Terre. I’ve always yearned to go there after seeing countless scenic photos of the five fishing villages. I was a bit disappointed as from what I saw didn’t match up to what I’ve hoped to see. A big regret was not going on the walking trails as we didn’t have much time and as you may know – Asian families + sun = big no no! Nevertheless, they still make a pretty picture!

The fried mixed seafood was unbelievable!! Definitely worth every single bite 🙂

Pisa was up next. Of course there’s the ubiquitous silly Pisa shot :p

and a gorgeous sculpture of the fallen Icarus

Siena and San Gimignano were my favourites, medieval-style cities full of character nestled in the Tuscan countryside.

Finally Rome, my favourite city. Each time I’m there, there’s always something new to wonder at.

Fortunately at the end of each day in Rome, we get to rest our hardworking feet at the fabulous Bless B&B. Ahhh bliss!
