Carnevale

Today the streets were filled with people, and twice as much confetti strewn across them! Music blaring, little kids in costumes dancing – it’s Carnevale time! Carnevale is the last celebration before lent starts. Lent historically has been the time before Easter when many Catholics deprive themselves of something they enjoy. The idea is to party until you drop and spend the period of Lent recovering. Genius!

Our version was tamer, nevertheless fun to watch and the atmosphere buzzing with festivity. The floats were amazing – evident of months of dedication and creativity building them.

This float was hilarious! It says l’oriente fa paura which means the East is scary! I guess we are! Loooool

HAPPY CARNEVALE!
